After spending over 20 years in the mental health industry as a mental health technician and Registered Nurse, I served in many roles since 1997. I worked as a mental health technician for four years monitoring patients and teaching group classes.
I engaged with various clients and employed many verbal de-escalation techniques for agitated or anxious clients in crisis. I've been directly involved in innumerable crisis situations with children, adolescents, and adults in crisis with aggressive behaviors and had to intervene both verbally and at times, physically when needed to maintain safety for all involved.

I've been certified in SCM, CPI, and Aegis safe crisis intervention techniques over the course of my career. I interviewed and assessed multiple patients one on one daily, learning about behavior patterns and how they impact children, adolescents, and adults. It's through these conversations and independent research, I honed many skills, but I was limited by the expectations of the roles I was assigned within the facilities themselves.

After working for a facility for 17 years, I wasn't really interested in pursuing anything else as I was genuinely happy with what I was doing as a nurse, but unforeseen life circumstances presented an opportunity to stop working in the medical setting and take my years of experience and interview skills and become a certified life coach. Thus Heroic Empowerment was born! 

I grew up idolizing superheroes for their idealistic views and character traits, so since my focus has always been children and families, I incorporated that into the theme of the company with the focus on helping people unlock their inner super powers, unleash their inner hero and break through the walls holding them back from true happiness.

After reading my story, my qualifications are clear. I know how to remain calm in a crisis and can help you learn how to change behaviors and limiting beliefs. I can help your family find peace through better communication and improved relationships. I will help you see what you cannot see within yourself and open your eyes to the new person you want to become.
